Many of our clients may be unaware of the scope of grants which are available through the National Churches Trust. Full details are available on the website www.nationalchurchestrust.org/our-grants but here is a summary of the programmes:
Repair Grants
Awards between £5K and £40K towards the cost of urgent and essential structural repair projects. Projects must have an estimated cost of at least £100K (including VAT and fees) to qualify.
Community Grants
Awards between £5k and £25 for projects which introduce facilities. In particular kitchen and toilets, to enable increased community use of places of worship. Projects must have an estimated cost of at least £25K and have Faculty and/or other permissions in place.
Partnership Grants
In partnership with 24 local charities in England and Scotland we give grants of £2.5K and £10K towards smaller repair projects and the installation of kitchens and toilets.
Project Development Grants
This programme offers awards of up to £10K to support churches at the outset of planning a project – investigating issues and exploring options up to RIBA Stage 1 – and in preparing to apply to major heritage funders such as the HLF.
Maintenance Grants
A new programme offering grants for proactive repair. These encourage listed churches to act on small, urgent repairs identified in their QI Reports. Grants of £1K to £2.5K are available to applicants with projects costing under £10K.
